Before I was in Crime Prevention, I was a School Resource Officer (SRO). As a SRO, I spoke to teachers and administration about the challenges to lock the door to classrooms in case there was an active shooter. 

Some schools won’t let there be a lock on the inside to prevent children from locking the teacher out of the room. While this is good in theory, it’s a problem dealing with an active shooter.
