The Development of the Curriculum
In 1990, the ISCPP released the Crime Prevention Specialist curriculum to the crime prevention world. Since that time, 1000's of crime prevention practitioners have used and studied it and taken the CPS test.
In 2005 the ISCPP released a completely new and updated International Crime Prevention Specialist Curriculum It was written by crime prevention professionals from all over the world. Still more practitioners were involved in proofing and giving input to make this the more current and up-to-date curriculum! The Curriculum was a complete sell out! When it was time to re-print, we took another look and the results are below.
In March of 2006, the ISCPP Training Committee had the 2005 edition completely edited and updated. We view this as a work in progress and there will be more updates in the years to come!

The Package
The ICPS Curriculum comes in a shrink wrapped package that includes all the chapters with tabs between chapters. There is a title page insert and a tab for the spine of the binder. The binder is not included in the price.

How To Pay
Checks, money orders or purchase orders must be drafted in U.S. dollars and made payable to the ISCPP. VISA and MASTERCARD are accepted through the Paypal system available on this website. Orders can be telephoned, emailed, snail mailed, or faxed to the ISCPP office. Your order will not be shipped until payment has been received. The ICPS Designation
When ISCPP Members pass the ICPS Test, the ISCPP Board of Directors confers the designation "ICPS" which stands for International Crime Prevention Specialist. Those members can use the initials after their name (e.g. Joe Prevention, ICPS). The ICPS Test challenges test takers with 200 multiple choice questions and demonstrates a basic knowledge of crime prevention. Because basic knowledge doesn't require renewal, the ICPS designation doesn't have to be renewed. THIS IS NOT A CERTIFICATION, but a designation. Those that pass the test and retain their membership to the ISCPP may continue to use the ICPS designation. If a member has passed the ICPS Test allows their ISCPP membership to lapse, they must stop using the ICPS designation.
